Steering Group
The steering group started in June 2021, and now meets weekly; its aim is to improve homeless health services. It is made up of people with lived experience of homelessness and staff from Arch Healthcare, Justlife and the University of Brighton.
Since the group started, we have grown and developed our own ‘how we work’ practices, given the uniqueness of the space. We use principles of co-production and trauma-informed care to work in a way that is safe, flexible and equal.

Media and Communications
The Media and Communications group started in February 2022 and meets fortnightly.
It was born out of discussions from the steering group on defining the group’s message. It became apparent this was a more specific larger piece of work that needed a separate discussion space. In this group, we reflect on how we want to disseminate our work; be it events, social media or through this website.

Focus Groups and design sprints
In addition to the regular group meetings above, project members come together in focus groups to explore and co-design interventions for specific subjects. The design sprints include:
1. Route to Roof
In April 2022, we co-designed a physical and digital directory of services for people experiencing homelessness. See more here
2. Housing Pathway
In September 2022, we co-designed a housing pathway map for Brighton for a single adult with recourse to public funds.

3. World Homeless Day social media campaigns in 2022 and 2023

4. Coproduction Research
Alongside Dr Emma Anderson (University of Brighton), we co-designed methodology and research on the subject of coproduction.
5. Medical Student Training
In collaboration with Dr Kate Pitt (Arch Healthcare), we co-created a university student select component that was taught at Brighton and Hove Medical School in January 2023 and September 2023.
The course is called Homelessness & health, and explores key health issues within homelessness, including mental health and substance use.

6. BHCA website
In 2023, we codesigned the BHCA website.
7. Arch Move On and Outreach
In March 2023, we inputted into two Arch Healthcare services: their GP move-on service and their new outreach service.
8. Manifesto
In March 2023, we coproduced manifesto recommendations for the local political parties, see the document here
9. Coproduction Training
In May 2023, we co-produced and delivered coproduction training at the Justlife Staff Conference and Homeless Health Conference
10. MCN programme consultation
In the summer of 2023, We worked with the Changing Futures Multiple Compound Needs Multidisciplinary Team to improve their service.
11. Comics coproduction/ design
In the summer of 2023, we worked with PHD student Thomas Roberts to coproduce a comic book highlighting three of our key themes. See more here
12. Street Sheet Consultation
In September 2023, we consulted with Anti Freeze to feed into their Street Sheet work.
